Andrea Jensen, MA, LMHCA
Hi! It’s nice to meet you. My name is Andrea. I am currently serving Washington state residents as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Associate, under the supervision of Rachel Hnizdil, LMFT. I am an enthusiastic and supportive psychotherapist, who believes empathy and compassion heal all wounds. I foster safety and trust in our time together as we work toward the life you want. It’s an honor and privilege to be a counselor; I am inspired daily by the resiliency and human spirit I witness in my work.
I work with individuals as young as 8 all the way into adulthood. Primarily, I focus on mood disorders, mindfulness, and interpersonal issues. With kids, I use art, meditation, and mindfulness techniques. While I am not officially an art therapist, I am a professional fine artist and have been using art therapy techniques with kids and adults since I began my counseling career.
I work with people suffering from depression, anxiety, ADHD, and childhood trauma.
I have an affinity for Latino culture and speak some Spanish. I do not specialize in addiction, Autism, or polyamorous arrangements.
My therapeutic philosophy integrates Person-Centered and psychodynamic theories, while my approach uses skills building that incorporates Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and The Interpersonal Outcomes Method. I often use meditation and art therapy as well in my practice.
